Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian
(Lux, #1)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Released |May 8th 2012 by Entangled Teen|
Edition |Ebook|
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.

This book was such a refreshing read :) Omg, Daemon! *Swoon* I devoured this book in a matter of a day and a half :) That's how amazing it was! It was a quick and fantastic read. This a book that kept you on your toes, that made you laugh, and that had romance and built of frustrations that could last for months :)

The characters in this book was A-freaking-MAZING :) Daemon, of course, was my absolute favorite! I loved his whole bad boy demeanor. He was so cute. Hand fanning hot, let me make the correction :) I loved his attitude. That undeniable chemistry between him and Katy was so intense. Katy was a great character too and that fact that she was a book blogger was awesome! Oh snap, that caught my attention from the very beginning :) I was like whoa, the first time I have seen this in a book! I loved it. Her attitude towards Daemon was adorable. Those too together was like world war III. With their constant arguing and their sexual frustations. Hilarious :)

Also the whole Alien thing, different. I didn't know how I would like that, but once I got into the book I realized how awesome it was. It was a different take on aliens :) I liked reading about the Lux. I like the whole thing about them being made of light and they do so many awesome things!

I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel. I highly recommend this book! It was definitely a page turner :) It was funny, exciting, and had some awesome romance :) Not to mention action packed!

Unwind
(Unwind, #1)
by Neal Shusterman
Released |November 6th 2007 by Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers|
Edition |Hardcover, 335 pages|

Connor, Risa, and Lev are running for their lives.
The Second Civil War was fought over reproductive rights. The chilling resolution: Life is inviolable from the moment of conception until age thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, parents can have their child "unwound," whereby all of the child's organs are transplanted into different donors, so life doesn't technically end. Connor is too difficult for his parents to control. Risa, a ward of the state is not enough to be kept alive. And Lev is a tithe, a child conceived and raised to be unwound. Together, they may have a chance to escape and to survive.

Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best. Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa

The Immortal Rules
(Blood of Eden, #1)
by Julie Kagawa
Release |April 24th 2012 by Harlequin Teen|
Edition |Hardcover, 485 pages|
Source |Netgalley, E-Arc|
In a future world, Vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity.
Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.
Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked—and given the ultimate choice. Die… or become one of the monsters.
Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.
Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outside her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend—a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.

But it isn't easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what—and who—is worth dying for.
OMG! Amazing :D This book was just AMAZING! When I first started this book I was wondering would it be as good as Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series. And I must say, that this book was just as good, if not better, than the Iron Fey series. I haven't decided yet :) I love them both.

Allison was an amazing character. I loved her from the very beginning! She was a tough chick who went and is still going through so much struggle. From beginning to end. In the beginning she struggled with being an unregistered. Trying to survive and scavenge for food to live another day. And when she becomes immortal, she is still struggling. Trying to learn how to be immortal, first off, and struggling with her inner self and becoming the demon she hated the most! She was just amazing!

Zeke was also amazing! I just loved him :) He was a sweetheart, but he was also tough. The fact that he tried to keep faith when almost always something went wrong. I admired that in him. And the two of them together, Allison and Zeke, were completely bad ass! They were both protectors and did the best to protect the people they cared about. There little hint of romance... *insert big smile* Just adorable.

Kanin, I actually really liked him! And can't wait to see what happens with him in the next installment! If ______ isn't dead, then is ______ alive too? IDK. I don't to spoil things, but I have so many unanswered questions! But at least the ending didn't have a HUGE cliffhanger like most books.

Overall, AMAZING! A must read! So much action, betrayal, and a need to survive! You MUST read this book :) Definite recommendation!
